I am impressed with author Karin Baine’s second medical romance for Harlequin. The author’s writing is fresh, consistent and unique. Her characters are flawed, likable and command attention on the page. The emotions are raw, deep and touching and the plot is engaging and convincing. Jessica Halliday is a strong, vibrant woman who wins your love in an instant. She is optimistic about filming a documentary for the children’s hospital in order to raise money for the Children’s Cancer Unit whilst Dr. Rob Campbell, head of Pediatric oncology isn’t so much (he has his reasons so don’t hate him). However, Jessica knows what it’s like to live with cancer because she is a survivor herself. Rob on the other hand carries his own set of baggage. His life is as imperfect as it gets. Because of his past, he struggles with letting people close. But working side by side, Rob and Jessica get acquainted and it is through working for a good cause do they discover each other in a whole new way. They help each other heal and move on from the pain they keep within their souls. Overall, A Kiss to Change Her Life by Karin Baine is a well-researched, well-written, emotionally touching story set in a backdrop of medical drama and it is one Harlequin medical romance you do not want to miss!
