Help me welcome Harlequin Medical Romance author Robin Gianna to the blog.  And be sure to enter the giveaway below! Hi Robin.

1. What inspired you to write this story?

I was asked to be a part of the 8-book continuity, The Hollywood Hills Clinic, which was really fun. But that did mean that they gave me the basics of the story and my characters’ backgrounds, so I didn’t need as much inspiration as usual, other than researching Mediterranean princes!

2. What is your story about?

A midwife buries her painful past through her work taking care of pregnant women and delivering precious babies into the world.  She demands excellence from herself, and is none too happy when an arrogant prince ob/gyn struts into her maternity ward and tries to take over!  Working together, they learn a grudging respect for one another, and the sparks that flew between the from the beginning start to heat up in a very different way. 🙂

3. Were you rooting for any character? If yes, what can you say about him or her?

I rooted for both of them, but particularly for Gabby.  She blamed herself for the mistake that ended up breaking her heart, and it was emotional for me to see her finally let go of that blame and decide to step outside the shadows she’d created around herself, and live in the light again.

4. If you were to choose a celebrity for your hero and heroine, who would they be?

Ah, I admit to being a little in love with Alex Gonzalez from the X-Men movie – he’s my Prince Rafael Moreno, for sure!  And I can easily see actress Jessica Chastain as my Gabriella Cain.

5. What is the working title of your next book?

I’m embarrassed to admit that right now I’m just calling it Spring Babies 2, because it’s a duet.  Since it’s set in Venice, Italy, I definitely need to come up with something zingier!

And that’s a wrap folks. Robin, thank you for stopping by! Hope to see you again soon.

His Cinderella midwife

Gabriella Cain prides herself on the exemplary service she provides to her celebrity moms-to-be. So she certainly doesn’t appreciate Dr. Rafael Moreno suddenly taking over her department…even if he is royalty—and gorgeous!

But distrust soon turns to secrets shared as irresistible Rafe proves dangerously easy to fall for. With a painful past behind her, can Gabriella dare hope for a fairy-tale ending with her prince?
