Once a Moretti Wife by Michelle Smart

31868038I love having you at my mercy… And you love it, too.

The only desire billionaire Stefano Moretti has for his estranged wife, Anna, is revenge–she humiliatingly left him weeks ago. So when Anna returns to his life, with no memory of their tempestuous marriage, he’s certain fate has dealt him a winning hand.

Stefano’s plan is twofold: a private seduction that will reawaken Anna to their red-hot attraction, followed by a public humiliation to match the one she landed on him. Until Stefano realizes there’s something he wants even more than vengeance–Anna, back in his bed, for good!

First of all, Michelle Smart is a talented writer. She brings her stories to life with beautiful words but her true skill lies in giving her characters depth. Their likability may vary, but the very core of these illusory people makes them feel real—their struggles, their fight to being heard. The raw emotions.

I soaked up the drama and the tension raging between Stefano and Anna. The dialogue and the banter between them had me in circles. Just take Stefano’s past history with Anna for instance. He may be unlikable and stone-cold at first, yet when I learn about him as the story progressed made me realize people aren’t always what they seem. The same goes for Anna. She is deeply flawed yet the depth of her strength overshadows it all. I cheered for her. I wanted to see she and Stefano overcome the hurdles the author placed in their path…and they do come out victorious in the end. All in all, Ms. Smart proves her skill by simply giving Stefano and Anna the most satisfying HEA even after all they’ve been through to get there!
