HE’D BREAK THE LAW TO GET HIS KIDS BACK
The twins were all Josh Parker had in this world. So when they were kidnapped, he couldn’t rely on his Texas Rangers star to get them back safely. Or involve Tracey Cassidy, the only person he trusted to care for his children. A family of criminals was asking him to break the law if he ever wanted to see his children again. But when Tracey caught wind of his plan, she knew no matter how big Josh’s heart was, he had a future with his twins to look forward to. They needed their father. And this was one burden he wouldn’t have to shoulder alone.
Thanks for inviting me, Amanda. Great to be here.
You asked me to talk a little about a normal writing day or what inspires me. I have to go with the latter since I don’t have a normal writing day. My husband travels and I have an agreement with him that I take off when he’s home. We’ve had some major renovations around the house. We’re do-it-ourselvers so it’s taking all our spare time.
I write a lot about Texas. (Okay, all my books are set in Texas.) Texas terrain is different any direction you choose and Texans (both transplants and those of us who have been here for several generations) inspire me. I love to travel and find locales that are perfect for each story. I’ve found characters overhearing a breakfast conversation in a hotel. Taken pictures of people so I can go back and describe them.
Most of my travels are with my husband and our dogs. Most of the time we take off in our truck and start snapping photographs. When I begin writing, I pull up the photographs in a slide show and watch. I share the photos when the book’s released. My fans like seeing the scene they’re reading about. The Alico building is a historical landmark and had to make it into the story. So did Bush’s chicken…when in Waco, this is the best chicken around.
Why Waco?My daughter attended Baylor University. So there were many trips to the city hosting the headquarters of the Texas Rangers.TEXAS RANGERS: ELITE TROOP is anchored in Waco but the series takes you from the far northwest tip of the Texas Panhandle down to a southern flight school. Which of course took several road trips.
Why Texas? They say you should write what you know…and I know Texas. The real Texas. The Texas that has history, honor, pride, cowboys, business and tornados. The part that has small towns, traffic, highways, trucks and the best pie (Hico). I hope you’ll join me learning more about the real Texas and finding all the clean restrooms along he way.

ANGI MORGAN writes Intrigues where honor and danger collide with love. Her work is a multiple contest finalist and Publisher’s Weekly best seller. She drags her dogs –and husband– around Texas for research road trips so she can write off her camera. They now have a map with highlighted roads they’ve traveled. Every detour somehow makes it into a book.
